Come to Corrymeela's Aperture Festival July 31st-Aug 2nd, celebrating 50 years making a world of difference. Aperture is a festival of diversity, arts, debate, politics, faith, music and celebration.
Aperture will also be a party. Bring your dancing shoes. Bring your politics. Bring your opinions. Bring your hope. Bring your friends. Bring your life. We’ll bring the rest. Each year we welcome over 11,000 people through our doors. For our 50th anniversary we are welcoming 1000 more. Come and enjoy the party. You can find out more about Corrymeela through reading our latest magazine, linked here. Our next magazine is out this Easter.
Last week I had the real pleasure of an extended conversation with Cathy MacDonald from the BBC Radio Scotland programme "Sunday Morning with Cathy MacDonald". The audio is through the link. We spoke about Corrymeela, poetry, theology, conflict, LGBT identity and national identity. There is some music interspersed throughout.
The Corrymeela Community in Northern Ireland, together with the St. Mary's University in San Antonio (Texas, USA) are delighted to partner together in a one year, four module course in Conflict Transformation. This innovative course is delivered online (using the blackboard platform) over 9 months and ends with a two-week residential programme meeting each other and engaging with academics and grassroots practitioners and theorists in Corrymeela, on the north coast of Ireland. We offer bursaries and support.
