I’ll be giving the Lana Schwebel Memorial Lecture in Religion and Literature — entitled Set my Tongue on Fire — at the Institute of Sacred Music at Yale in November. The event is free, and there is no registration needed.
“Set My Tongue on Fire: Exploring the language and forms of poetry and prayer”
This lecture will explore some poetic forms that hold the raw language of prayer. Taking examples from the Irish tradition, as well as contemporary liturgy and poetry, participants will explore how various forms can contain the desire of prayer.
Enormous thanks to staff at ISM and the trustees of the fund for this opportunity.
