LGBT experiences of Faith and Church in Northern Ireland

I was made choose between God and Gay - I didn’t want to.

In 2012, I was the Faith and Peace worker for the Irish Peace Centres (a cooperation between Corrymeela, Cooperation Ireland, Glencree and An Teach Bán). As part of this work, I directed a project exploring LGBT experiences of faith and church.

Drs. Claire Mitchell and Gail McConnell undertook a research project for the Irish Peace Centres exploring these questions and we published the report "LGBT experiences of Faith and Church in Northern Ireland". They interviewed twenty three people across gender, age, economic and religious identities. Their methodology, writing and conclusions are extraordinary and give a unique insight into the community dynamics.

It should be read carefully - and the link is below. You can get in touch with me for any questions.
